XD-4080 Road test with the Jacksonville Symphony

The XD series of processors from Xilica have an industry-standard choice of Bessel, Butterworth or Linkewitz-Riley crossovers with slopes from 6 to 48 dB-per-octave. Under General Settings, the EQ and crossover settings can be made in either 1 Hz increments or 36 steps per octave.

Brit Row supports International Tours with Midas Gear

Legendary Britania Row Productions will touring the world with artists ranging from Jamiroquai to Noel Gallagher to Foo Fighters.  All of them will be carrying Midas consoles.  FOH engineer for Jamiroquai, Rick Pope says, "Out of all the digital boards that I've used in the live environment, the XL8 is sonically by far the best".  Ian Beveridge, FOH for Foo Fighters exclaims, "It's the best sounding console I have ever used, bar none," he continues, "The band themselves commented on the sonic improvement the moment the PRO6 arrived."

Pope Benedict XVI plays Berlin with Electro-Voice

Pope Benedict XVI may have a relatively quiet voice, but every word was heard at the Mass for 61,000 at the Giant Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Powered by 90 P3000RL amps and another 80 TG7's, the Electro-Voice system with 171 XLC, 104 XLD, 40 X-Line and 80 XLE worked magnificently.

Auckland, New Zealand’s Eden Park has undergone a multi-million transformation in preparation for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, including a new three-tier south stand and a new two-tier east stand that replace the stadium’s terraces and increase crowd capacity to 60,000 from 42,000.

Compact Clarity at CCMA Awards Show

The Canadian Country Music Association awards show held at Rexall Place hockey arena in Edmonton, Alberta was being fed to a nationwide broadcast on CBC, making lighting a big priority for the show’s producers.  And while audio was by no means marginalized, it was imperative that setup be fast and sightlines be unimpaired.  An Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system, designed and provided by leading Canadian event and installation company Sound Art, fit the bill on both counts.

EV at The Commonwealth Games

With a 60,000-plus seating capacity, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India was the biggest venue used for the October, 2010 XIX Commonwealth Games. The stadium hosted athletics events and, most importantly, served as the venue for the Games’ opening and closing ceremonies.

Jay-Z & Eminem use XL8 at FOH for largest hip-hop concert ever.

Jay-Z and Eminem did four shows in Yankee Stadium and Detroit's Comerica park to 42,000 fans every night. Also on the bill was 50 cent, Beyonce, Coldplay, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and others.  Kenyatta "Kelo" Saunders mixed the shows on a Midas XL8 citing it's "analog sound and warmth, and the practicality of digital."

Harry Connick Jr. Goes Digital with Pro 6


Harry Connick Jr. requires great fidelity in the monitor system. After years of relying on Midas' analog consoles, production manager Ted Jonas of Jonas Productions recently switched to digital.  "I'm an old school analog guy, and with few exceptions, we've always had a Midas console in Harry's monitors," he said. "Over the years, we've used the XL4, the XL3 and the H3000. We had no desire to go digital until we got our hands on the PRO6."

Midas Heritage being Retired

The most successful range of large-format analogue mixing consoles in Midas's history, the Heritage range is being retired in line with the manufacturer's normal policy of a 10-year life cycle. The PRO6 digital console is the natural successor to the Heritage 3000, with more than 250 PRO6s now in regular use worldwide, which is a faster growth than the Heritage did after its launch.

This isn’t your average outdoor festival-type gig - setting up a sound reinforcement system on the side of a mountain while these events are transpiring is no small feat.

PAG Canada named exclusive distributor of Soundog in Canada

Soundog’s wireless audio technology introduces a way for fans to enjoy sporting events in a bar or restaurant setting. They will be seeing the game while simultaneously hearing the play-by-play commentary. By using wireless technology, the Soundog speaker allows customers to audio surf through eight programs being broadcast simultaneously. While the restaurant selects the programming, the customer can control which program they listen to and adjust the volume using digital push buttons and an easy on/off volume control on a hand-held unit.
